Searching for European-style Bakeries
For the bread suggestions offered here, a caveat. While there are a number of bakeries throughout the Central Coast, few make bread in the classic European style—good crust with an airy, interesting center—which we prefer to a denser American-style loaf. As for pastries, we prefer flakey croissants to chewy ones, thoughtfully conceived breakfast danish with appropriate sweetness (but not too much), and other inspired approaches to sweeter bakery options.
