Tour: Northern Santa Ynez
Cat, Foxen and Alisos Canyons
Santa Barbara County backroads provide good climbs and beautiful sights. At touring speed, this loop takes about three hours. Keep an eye out for the Foxen shack for an easy wine-tasting stop on this route.
Our 33 mile route climbed Cat Canyon to Gato Ridge, traversed Foxen Canyon, stopped for some wine tasting, and finally looped back for a fast downhill to Los Alamos through Alisos Canyon. The attentive cyclist will see how to avoid cycling on the highway for any length of this tour.
