X Marks the Spot & the Salinas Underground Podcast Playlist

In March 2015, we introduced ourselves via Twitter to the guys from the Salinas Underground Podcast. After reading in the Monterey County Weekly about their interesting angle on their hometown of Salinas, we figured they could introduce us to some of the best food trucks in their corner of the northern Central Coast.

We’ve continued to connect over the last year for our forthcoming Food Truck Finds podcast feature, a meeting with Chef Javier Plascencia of Bracero Cocina de Raiz during Cooking for Solutions, attending the Monterey Bay Aquarium foodie dance party, and more great food at the Watsonville Food Truck Block Party. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know Osbaldo Lucero, Juan Hernandez a.k.a. Cujo, and José Lopez a.k.a. Pozole.

Finally, we met in January 2016 at the XL Public House in downtown Salinas to record an episode of their podcast: fun! We shared a few funny foodie clips in our February 5, 2016 live radio show on “X Marks the Spot with Central Coast Foodie” via EsteroBayRadio.org (KEBF) as well as included several songs from the SUP playlist.
